About Prince2

PRINCE was established in 1989 by the Central Computer and Telecommunications Agency (CCTA) and is now used extensively by the UK Government and is widely recognised and used in the private sector, both in the UK and internationally.

When PRINCE was launched in 1989, it replaced PROMPT (a method created by Simpact Systems Ltd in 10975) within Government projects, and following extensive consultation and contribution by a consortium of over 100 European organisations PRINCE2 was published in 1996.
